Over the last few years I’ve painted a series of custom accessories for clients. Each client either provided me with a bag they already owned, or purchased a bag specifically for the project.
GUCCI
For this project, my client provided me with a vintage Gucci leather duffle bag that was extremely dirty and worn. I was given complete creative freedom in this project and decided to cover the entire surface of the bag in a geometric pattern consisting of panels in different shades of purple. I used leather paint to cover the surface and sealed the paint-job with leather protectant spray.
MADEWELL
For this project, my client provided me with a black leather Madewell Transport Tote. She specified that she wanted vertical white and gold stripes, as well as a “FITZ” monogram in the center in the same two colors.
VEGAN LEATHER TOTE
For this project, my client provided me with a brown vegan leather tote. She specified that she wanted vertical red, gold, and black stripes, as well as a large “G” monogram in black in the center.
CANVAS TOTES
For this project, my client provided me with ten canvas tote bags. The totes would be used as gift bags at her upcoming engagement party and she wanted each tote to have the initials of each of her friends that would be receiving the bags. Beyond that, the vision was up to me.
I decided to paint a simple green leaf on each and paint each set of initials in gold on top of the leaves. Additionally, I painted a small red heart with a white “M”—my client’s first initial—inside each heart on the side of every bag.
